sky high and feeling knackered

On me plane back to HK. It's been one long fucking week, I'll tell yer
(not that you want to hear).

Instead I'll tell you that I finally finished Pandora's Star. It's an
object lesson in Dave's position of slob literanus laureate that he
started the book way after me but finished weeks before. His analysis
was "not as good as I expected" with which I have to agree. Really not
bad and altogether accessible but really not a patch on the Night's Dawn
trilogy (same author, more really BIG weapons, plus zombies..!), the
only problem with which was the ball breaking 2 year wait between
installments. It's all out there; got get it. This isn't as good (and we
have to wait for the "finale" which will probably take forever).

Watched the final 20 minutes of Shrek on the plane (whilst listening to
White Stripes on the headphones; quite rewarding in all) and it struck
me; doesn't Farquad look like Matt Wills? Which then turned me on to the
fact that Shrek is a spitting image of Dunc seen through a green lens
filter. In fact, aside from the Glaswegian accent, Dunc IS shrek,
without said green filter. I have suffered (painfully) an epiphany.

Sadly next week doesn't look easier. China on Monday (more busses....)
then Paris Tuesday to a workshop with the client of the Korean project.
I found out today ('cause they actually agreed to meet with us) that the
Korean GC has not been invited to said pow-wow which will probably
actually turn out to be a very BAD thing for us as we have to work with
the cunts. I spent most of our meeting trying to subtly (in a sort of
"why don't you do this" sort of way, subtle isn't me really) suggest
ways for them to get to this meeting. If they're not they're, I think
the whole thing is going to get very acrimonious indeed. Ho hum,
whatever; there's biking tomorrow

Morning all

Well, I'm in Seoul; the Koreans have agreed to meet us, although my JV partner is now being standoffish about attending, which would be embarassing; it's the reason I came here. Work news yesterday was that our factory in South China now says they can't fabricate the job, which is great. Looks like I'll be converting the guest room into an ad-hoc production facility.

not much to tell of yesterday, except that Dave is out of pies (not guilty) and bread (guilty) and the dog is in shock having watched me wandering around in my boxers all morning.

Smudge has sent me several pictures, here they are in "raw" form. Will attempt to fit my fat gut next to dave and smudge's once back in HK this weekend.

The original (and syill classic) Bellies shot. circa 1995

Bellies the remake (2002) re-enactment took place at Collis' wedding. Safety crews were in attendance

The now mythical 1995 Canadian Ball. Back in the days when I could fit into my kilt still. No-one seems to have a picture of me with it over my head, which is fortunate really.

More ball jollity when DP decides to lean on the crowd. How we laughed

An early Photoshop of Richard, Smudge and Dave onto some sort of prawn picture, living proof that we pre-dated B3ta and all the other copycats

Well, they're certainly ginger

Errrr. And we always thought it was Matt who couldn't keep his hand off his cock.

Morning all

My arm had come back to life by this morning. No kitten killing involved; instead a punch from Dave and a "entertain Dunc, he's talking about cycling ... IN PUBLIC!"

Dunc mate only you and I give a shit about TdF and I haven't been following it because;

a) 2000 USD required for a sat dish to get the ONLY channel in HK that shows it (although they do get 4 hours a day)
b) Internet coverage is shite
c) I don't read (newspapers)

Currently sat in Dave's flat using it as an impromptu orifice and fly to Seoul this evening. Good thing about using a mate's flat is the accessibility of music, coffee and bikkies as well as the ability to work in on'e boxers. I'm sure you appreciate the image.

I'm going to have to sign off now as, although it all sounds like a great excuse for a day off, I've actually got tons to do and the Koreans that I am planning to see tomorrow have just sent me a cryptic email suggesting that they might refuse to meet me, which is reassuring

Howdy doody

Someone suggested that the big fish in the picture of Dunc surfing might be a dolphin as the tail appears to be horizontal. I did some reseqrch on this and found out that there is a species of shark with a horizontal tail fin; it's called the undercover dolphin-shark, or something...

Oooohhhhh Scary...
