a very short link to a very long site

I had planned to go for a bike ride this afternoon. Imagine my consternation then, when I was sent a link to http://www.thingsmygirlfriendandihavearguedabout.com/ and found myself unreasonably transfixed by the whole thing. Genius.

Now it is too late to go biking, something that Bubble and I will no doubt get into an arguement about when she gets home.

Movies and that

DP Richard sent me into a spin this morning with his comment about the Avil Aliens (very good trailer) star Emily Booth. He says google, I google. It just works that way. Oh, my. Seems that this giorl is an ex Big-Breakfast ... errr ... skank. Fantastic! Her site is chock full of staged shots of "our Em" in various different whoring uniforms poses such as ...

clarse

Well I never. My favorite though, has to be the big gun shot;

Now THAT is a big gun

I notice that there are no grimy-covered-in-blood shots from Evil Aliens in her PR portfolio.

In other movie news and POTC II - Dead Man's Chest trailer is up (although, feeling very proud of myself for finding it, I looked on AICN to find that they posted it last November....). hmmm, I'm really not sure about this. They've got all the ingredients; Depp and Rush (must be a ghost or something, but anything for a bit more Barbossa) Pirate lore not used already (the Black spot, Davey Jones himself) Kiss-me nightly (if you can stand to do anything but stare at her cleavage) so it should be a winner. I can't help the feeling though that this is going to be ... well ... shit. Of course one of the main attractions of the original movie was the character that Depp created. Fresh, full of comedy and nothing that any of us who don't follow the Rolling Stones have ever seen before. And that's the problem. We have seen it before now, 2 years ago in the original movie. I'm terribly afraid this is going to come over all tiresome, like a Jim-Carey-plays-wacky-Jim-Carey movie ... excruciatingly painful. On the other hand, looking at the amount of truly contrived action in the trailer, we might just be looking at a new Indiana Jones franchise, which I could be a good thing, but we'll see later in the year.

Finally, I heard an article on the radio this morning about a movie being marketed on the basis that it has the worst performing box office record in history. According to it's producer, Offending Angels grossed a grand total of $150,000,000 at the box office. With that kind of performance, it would have to be British. Oh, and it is. The producer was plugging the DVD release on the BBC this morning, rather cleverly using the abysmal box office takings in order to secure 2 minutes of morning radio time, although the fact that he actually pointed this out to the presenter was somewhat a negative point in his spot. The presenter of course spared no time taking the piss, but the producer seems to have swallowed so much humble pie already that he took it all very well. Might look this up for a B movie night.
