Morning all

The last lap is always the hardest, so they say. It's purely psychosomatic of course, the work isn't any harder, it's just more difficult to do, because the light at the end of the tunnel distracts from the task at hand. This is going to be a fingernails finish, I think. Still, finish it will, whether I continue moaning about it or not.

We had Bubble's leaving do on Sunday. Champagne Brunch followed by seconds at Stormies. Mark (Junger's husband, remember him?) is the manager there so we got 1/2 price champers all afternoon. According to my credit card bill, we went from there to Wan Chai and left Carnage at 9pm. Yesterday was not a fun day.

The old laptop we have been using gave up the ghost last night and now has more bad sectors than good on the HDD. The fan still seems to work, but it got hot enough to melt the little rubber feet and leave purple foot prints everywhere. Ho hum, looks like I'm going shopping...

In more profoundly sad news and my granny died last night. She has had cancer for the last couple of years, operated on once then declared terminal about 6 months ago. The news is not too much of a shock then and at least she had her kids by her (my dad, uncle and aunt) to the last. Of course one of the things about moving back to Europe was to spend more time with the familials, having all but lost contact with everyone over the last 12 years. Gran's passing reminds me that life will plod on, no matter what I try to change about it. At least I did get to see her in April and I'm certainly glad of that.

To end on an up note and it's Bubble's birthday today, she's mmmffmfmf mmfty myme. After Sunday's riot, I'm not sure how much drinking I'm up for, but I'm sure we'll find a way.
