2 Movies from the Gattaca guy and Dave gets a good talking to

AICN ran a review on a movie that looks very promising; Lord of War. It’s a morality play with Nicolas Cage, Ethan Hawke and Jared Leto, written and directed by the Genius that gave us Gattaca and The Truman Show (ok, and S1m0ne but you can’t have everything). This is enough to get me drooling, frankly. Even if it’s not SciFi. AICN rank the movie but dis the credits;

“And what frustrates me about Lord of War is that the other 99% of the film is just so damned good. Truly inspired, fascinating work.”

Also, you don’t call movies about blowing things up “work” so I will have to engage my brain while watching. Another upcoming from the same director is the very interesting looking Paani which looks to be borrowing from JG Ballard’s The Drought but set in Bombay. Unfortunately there seems to be a romance involved, so it can’t be an adaptation but hopefully there will be things blowing up and I am immediately enamored of any movie not set in the USA.

Sorry to here about Dave getting sick and being declared too unhealthy to be alive (serves you right for letting the doctors have a look up there mate.) Hope you get better soon so you can stop being moralized at by doctors. It’s just a bit of puppy fat mate.

I have an old school mate going to Oz soon, not sure if he’s just there for a holiday or something more permanent. I told him to pitch up on the blog and start hurling abuse and he should get a Barbie invite before long but we’ll see what happens.
