linkies

I took up cricket on Sunday. My wrist and shoulder haven't been this stiff since I was a teenager... well, maybe since my twenties anyway. I was quite impressed with the cricket team I went to practice with, they're mostly about as shit as me so I think we'll get on. I batted in the nets fro about 20 minutes and now have 3 nice bruises which amply demonstrate the gaps in standard cricket pads.

I have a couple of things to show you today, both of which I had meant to tell you about a while ago but didn't. You may have heard of both of them coz they've been around for a while (in internet terms at least) the first is a free internet phone service called Skype. This is a small piece of client software that sits on your PC and allows you to call any one else with the same software loaded. You need to set up an account with the skype boys, as they host the connection between e users. Their angle is to try and sell you line time to call landlines etc but PC to PC calls are completely free. Cue natterring with folks in far flung places for hours on end. Our user name is andrea-and-james so install the programme, look us up and we can have free telephone convos about ...errr stuff.

The next is the Ricky Gervais show hosted through the Guardian Unlimited. I think DP Rich first recommended this to me but my memory is a bit blur at the mo. Currently about 1/2 way through their series (episode 7 this week), this is a radio talk show format which Ricky hosts along with his mates Karl and Steve. Not live so no phone ins (although I'm sure you could find Karl suggesting it at some point in a previous episode, he's sort of the thick one) but they do take emails and what so there is some interaction. Required listening.

That's it for me this morning, I might go for a little lie down.
